At 9:30 a.m. NST today deepening low 982 mb located southeast of
James Bay.
By 9:30 a.m. NST Saturday deepening low 957 mb located over
Labrador.
At 9:30 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Labrador Coast.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday departing ridge located east of Labrador
Sea.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:19 AM NST 19 December 2025 A trough of low pressure off Greenland will slowly depart to the east
today. Strong to gale force westerlies behind the trough will
gradually diminish this afternoon as the trough departs.
An intensifying low pressure system over Quebec will track over the
Labrador Sea on Saturday. North of the low's track, gale to storm
force northeasterlies to southeasterlies are expected. South of the
track, gale to storm force southerlies are expected. In the wake of
the system, storm to hurricane force north to northwesterlies will
develop.
Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for North Labrador Coast. Storm warnings are in effect for
all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
