Marine Weather StatementIssued 10:02 AM PST 20 December 2025 A building Arctic ridge combined with a low pressure centre over Haida Gwaii is producing strong to gale force outflow winds through some of the North Coast inlets. The winds are expected to persist through this morning as the low moves inland.
A weak disturbance over Explorer will track eastward across southern waters this morning. Strong to gale force westerly winds are expected before winds ease as the disturbance moves inland this afternoon.
Another low pressure centre is forecast to develop over Explorer tonight and track northeastward into the Central Coast Sunday morning. Strong to gale force southerly to southwesterly winds are expected to develop over central waters as the low passes.
