...New DISCUSSION...
.KEY MESSAGES...
- Warm and dry weather through early next week.
- Monitoring for increasing fire danger threat this weekend.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 120 AM CDT Wed Mar 25 2026
Through the rest of the week: Surface high pressure and
increasing heights aloft will combine to result in increasing
temperatures this week with afternoon highs in the 80s F. A cold
front will slip south into this weekend but with continued
subsidence/ridging aloft the boundary will be unlikely to produce
more than a period of increased cloudiness followed by a dip in
temperatures and humidity into the weekend.
This weekend and beyond: Following a brief dip in temperatures
(highs upper 60s F and lower 70s F) on Saturday, we`ll start to
rebound quickly into Sunday and next week with afternoon temperatures
back into the 80s F. Humidity will begin to increase heading into
next week as we emerge once again into the western flank of
surface high pressure and a return to southerlies.
Unfortunately, little in the way of rain chances are expected for
the next 7 days with the chances for meaningful rainfall perhaps
not coming until well beyond that time. High uncertainty with
spring weather can yield large forecast adjustments in the 7-10
day ranges, so some chance for a wetter pattern may emerge but it
certainly seems more likely than not that drought conditions will
worsen over the next week and beyond. /86/
