  week with dry conditions and near-normal temperatures.

.DISCUSSION...Through Friday

A trough is deepening over the Pacific Northwest is pushing last
week`s high pressure eastward.  The interaction between these two
systems resulted in an pressure gradient and offered strong winds
for much of Saturday. Winds ease into the late night but rebuild
late Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon will offer another batch of
widespread gusty winds peaking around 30 mph for most areas with some
of the higher elevations and favored gaps and passes exceeding 35
mph. The pressure gradient reduces into the work week, but the
influence of the trough will offer breezy afternoons through much of
the week. Temperatures will be moving closer to average due to this
pattern change, with a gradual cooling trend expected into the the
mid-week. High temperatures will fall back to near average (90s to
low 100s). Low temperatures, however, will only see some slight
reduction, staying around 5 degrees above average. Temperatures look
to gradually increase again by the end of the work week as pressure
begins to increase.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 06Z Forecast Package...
South to southwest winds will continue overnight with speeds around
8-10 knots, but a few gusts to around 15 knots are possible at times
overnight. We may see a brief lull in winds between 12-16Z Sunday,
but expected to see southwest winds increase once again late morning
into Sunday evening with gusts exceeding 20 knots. Dry conditions
with VFR skies persisting through the period. Temperatures will
exceed 100 degrees from 20Z to 02Z on Sunday.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 06Z Forecast Package...Winds over most areas
will continue to decrease this evening with most areas seeing
southwest to west winds around 10 knots or less. Winds will increase
once again across the region after 17Z with southwest to west winds
10-15 knots with gusts 20-25 knots. VFR skies with no precipitation
expected through the period.
