.DISCUSSION...
(Today through next Thursday)
Issued at 1238 AM CST FRI DEC 5 2025

Today through Saturday

Rain chances will continue today and tomorrow across mainly the
central and southern counties in Central Alabama as a Gulf low
swings northeastward up the Carolina coach today and leaves behind a
"conveyor belt of moisture" across the southern areas. My
counterpart on the day shift mentioned an "ebb and flow" of rain
pushing north and south through the central part of the area through
Saturday, which still appears to be the case as of this forecast
update. Areas south of the I-85 corridor may see another inch or so
of rain by Saturday night. Northwestern counties should see little
to no rain.

Sunday through Thursday

Temperatures will warm into the upper 50s to low 60s on Sunday.
Slight rain chances will overspread the entire region again Sunday
ahead of an approaching trough. Rain will end west to east by Sunday
night into Monday morning, and Monday looks to be cool and dry
across much of the region. Monday night lows are likely to drop to
near freezing across the southeast and below freezing across central
and northern areas. A considerable portion of the region is likely
to drop as low as the mid 20s. Temperatures will rebound again
Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs and lows slowly moderating. Highs
in the low to mid 60s are forecast for much of the area Wednesday
before rain chances return Wednesday night into Thursday morning
ahead of yet another approaching trough.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1126 PM CST THU DEC 4 2025

IFR to occasionally LIFR cigs and vis present at area terminals
due to ongoing low clouds and rainfall, primarily at MGM and AUO.
Low clouds may stick around much of Friday, with ceilings
struggling to lift above MVFR. Vis should improve during the day
at BHM, EET, and TCL but could remain MVFR for MGM and AUO with
continued rain chances through the day.

.FIRE WEATHER...

Rain remains in the forecast through the weekend, with fuels likely
staying damp for a few days into next week. MinRH values will remain
above 50% through Monday, with fire weather concerns remaining
little to none.
