Wind southeast 10 to 20 knots increasing to southeast 20 to 30 early this evening then diminishing to northwest 10 to 20 late this evening except southwest 20 near Qualicum Beach near midnight. Wind becoming variable 5 to 15 late overnight then becoming southeast 5 to 15 early Sunday afternoon.

Hecate Strait.

At 4:00 p.m. PDT today low located west of Bowie.
By 9:30 p.m. PDT tonight departing low located north of Bowie.

At 4:00 a.m. PDT Sunday trough located west of Bowie.
By 4:00 p.m. PDT Sunday trough located over Hecate Strait.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 4:01 PM PDT 21 March 2026 A frontal system will bring southerly to southwesterly gales to the
outer waters today. Over Northern Bowie, westerly storms are expected
this afternoon and this evening as a low offshore passes near the
region.

Westerly to southwesterly gales move into northern waters on Sunday
as another trough moves across.

With an unstable airmass over the central and northern waters,
isolated thunderstorms are expected today with a slight risk of
waterspouts this afternoon and tonight.
