At 10:00 a.m. NDT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest over the East Coast of the U.S. By 10:00 a.m. NDT Thursday trough located on a line north-south over the Maritimes.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest over the eastern Grand Banks. By 3:00 a.m. NDT Thursday quasi-stationary ridge located southeast of Funk Island Bank.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:56 AM NDT 22 July 2026 A weakening trough of low pressure oriented east-west south of Nova Scotia will continue moving northward through the Gulf of St. Lawrence today and dissipate this evening. Strong to gale force southerlies will develop over most waters ahead of the trough on Wednesday. Winds will shift to strong southerlies to southwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for Gulf-Port au Port.
