Rain or snow becoming snow near midnight then flurries Sunday morning. Visibility 1 mile or less in snow.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Freezing spray over western sections late overnight and Sunday.

Temperatures minus 2 to plus 4 falling to minus 8 to minus 1 Sunday morning.

Issued 4:00 PM NST 20 December 2025 Tonight and Sunday At 4:00 p.m. NST today low 946 mb located northeast of Nain.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Sunday departing low 964 mb located north of the
Marine District.

At 4:00 p.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
Quebec.
By 4:00 p.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line east-west over
Labrador.


Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:42 PM NST 20 December 2025 An intense low pressure system just northeast of Nain will track
northeastward over the Labrador Sea tonight as it moves to lie north
of the marine district by Sunday afternoon. Gale to storm force
northeasterlies to southeasterlies are forecast north of its
Track with gale to storm force southerlies developing to the south of
its track. Storm to hurricane force north to northwesterlies will
follow in the wake of the low.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for North Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea, and Northwest
Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except East Labrador Sea.
