Issued 10:00 AM NST 4 February 2026 Today Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 1011 mb located south of
Nova Scotia.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday low 997 mb located over the southern
Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:47 AM NST 4 February 2026 A deepening low pressure system will approach the marine district
from the west tonight to cross the Southern Grand Banks on Thursday.
Strong to gale force easterly winds will develop north of the low
Thursday morning while gale force westerlies develop to its south.
Winds will shift to strong to gale force northeasterlies to
northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Southern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
