By 3:30 p.m. ADT Sunday departing low 984 mb located northeast
of Newfoundland.
At 10:00 a.m. ADT Sunday ridge located over the western Marine
District.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Sunday ridge located over the central Marine
District.
At 8:00 p.m. ADT Sunday approaching trough located on a line
east-west over southern New England.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:47 PM ADT 21 March 2026 A low pressure system over Eastern Nova Scotia will intensify and
track northeastward tonight and Sunday. Winds will increase to strong
to gale force northwesterlies in the wake of this system tonight with
winds expected to reach storm force over Northeastern Banquereau.
Winds will diminish during the day Sunday as the low moves northeast
of Newfoundland and a ridge of high pressure moves into the marine
district. Over southwestern waters late Sunday, winds will increase
as a trough over Southern New England approaches.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Banquereau - northeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for
eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian
Slope - eastern half, Fourchu, Banquereau - southwestern half,
Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - eastern half and
Anticosti - eastern half.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen - eastern half, and Anticosti.
