Areas Affected: Greater Lake Tahoe Area - Mono - Greater Lake Tahoe Area
 
Alert Details:
* WHAT...Snow Above 5000 feet. Snow accumulations up to 1 to 3
inches around the Lake Tahoe Basin, 3 to 6 inches over higher
Sierra passes, and up to 6 to 12 inches of snow across the Sierra
Crest above 7000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. Higher
Sierra ridgetops could gust to 90 plus mph.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Mono County.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 8 AM PDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power
lines.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Those traveling over higher Sierra passes and
recreating in the Sierra back country should be prepared for late
season wintry conditions at times overnight Saturday into early
Sunday morning.

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by

California.

Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

Alert Details:
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches
above 5000 feet with around a foot at highest elevations. Winds
gusting from 30 to 50 mph.

* WHERE...Western Plumas County/Lassen Park and West Slope
Northern Sierra Nevada.

* WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 8 AM PDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel delays from slick roads and reduced
visibilities. Chain controls are likely Saturday afternoon and
evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of around an inch an hour
are expected Saturday afternoon and evening which will lead to
reduced visiblities and slick roads above 5000 feet.
