.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 159 AM CST Mon Feb 2 2026

No changes have been made to the forecast for this week. Tuesday and
Wednesday still looks to be the best days for showers and isolated t-
storms across our entire forecast area. Please see the previous
forecast discussion down below for more information:

Surface high pressure over the Lower MS Valley will continue to
bring quiet conditions for the next couple of days. Today`s early
morning lows (low/mid 20s) will remain below freezing across the
area. As the high continues southeastward, highs (upper 40s-near 60
degrees)/low (ranging in the 30s-40s) will continue to run below
seasonal to near seasonal averages. Moisture return is expected
ahead of the an incoming shortwave trough, bringing showers and an
isolated t-storm chances back on Tuesday into Wednesday with the
greatest chances Tuesday evening. Areawide PoPs between 50-90% are
expected, setting up for a wet mid-week. A frontal boundary will
swing through Wednesday afternoon/evening dropping overnight lows
back to the 20s. Once the boundary passes, quieter weather pattern
expected as another surface high settles into the southeast. Temps
will return to seasonal averages by the end of the period. /SW/CR
