Sunny and dry conditions with near normal temperatures continue
through the weekend and into early next week. Slightly warmer
high temperatures today, followed by a cool-down with increases
in daytime humidity values Thursday into the weekend. A weak
weather system is forecast to move through the Pacific Northwest
Thursday, but dry weather is expected across the area with any
precipitation with the system remaining to the north and west.
However, there is a non-zero chance for thunderstorms in the
Shasta range. Monsoonal moisture along with any thunderstorm
activity through the weekend is expected to remain east of the
Sierra Crest. Breezy westerly winds with gusts potentially to 30
mph in the Burney Basin and northeast foothills are expected on
Friday and Saturday. This combined with minimum humidity values in
the low to mid 20s will bring elevated fire weather conditions
threat there.
